You exploited a wound upon me.

I did not see the blow at first,

Just like I did not see my faults.

How selfish was I,

To burden you with my

Wry and petty thoughts.

Now the wound has scabbed- a sign of healing.

I take caution in every move,

And we are strangers with no past.

It was in you

That I once found refuge,

And a diary for my doubts.

A scar now sits where the wound once sat.

Never augmenting,

But always evident.

Forever I’ll yearn

For the blemish not to burn.

I won’t forget this feeling, even when I’m 80.

All those chances I had to say, ‘hello’ but turned away. It’s like having a dream come true manifest itself in front of your eyes, but you’re not worthy enough to attain it. So you don’t, and regret it every time. That’s what it feels like. He is the one person who has ever had that effect on me, and I cant explain why. Maybe it sounds silly to everyone I tell, but I’m not playing. I actually feel these things. Cynical and stone- cold Ariel actually has emotions. Crazy, right?
